Texas a la Moag is a dynamic foursome of seasoned musician-performers
who take time out from their professional careers to provide delightful
retrospective programs of roots music from Texas and beyond.
Collectively the group draws from more than a century of experience on
stage, dance halls, radio, recordings and television. Each member
brings a distinctive set of musical strengths to the group, allowing for
a uniquely broad repertoire of material, styles and instrumentation.
These range from the intimate acoustic sound of fiddle tunes and waltzes
played at ranch dances in the early days of Texas to the big sound of
honkytonk and rockabilly from the 50's and 60's with electric guitar,
piano and twin fiddles. Texas a la Moag performances are laced with
humorous patter and vignettes about the songs and their writers. Original
compositions and comedy routines are also featured. All performances are
tailored to audience and venue.
